Substitute teachers must hold or be eligible to apply for a valid California Public School teaching credential or an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit (requires bachelor's degree and passage of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). Classified employees are those who provide support services to the staff and students and includes secretaries, bus drivers, custodians, maintenance, instructional assistants, food services and many more.
